Luis Carrera-Maul's research revolves around the notion of postpictorial practices in which, among others, the processual character is emphasized more than the formal result of the work.

For more than 20 years, Carrera-Maul's artistic exploration has been based on a pictorial experimentation that has it’s roots on a project of clear conceptual heritage and materializes through a technical-historical investigation of both artistic and meditative ancestral processes, in this way his processes are in reality actions of resistance, which result in the natural complexity of the images exhibited. The works become appropriations of natural processes and, at the same time, they become a collaboration with the same elements of Nature.

Conceptually, the exhibition revolves around the Anthropocene and the so-called "geological footprint". Carrera-Maul's processes also make evident his commitment to an increasingly sustainable artistic practice. Through different formal and conceptual explorations, the exhibition immerses the viewer in the artist's own cosmogony, in the way Luis Carrera-Maul approaches the act of creation of the universe and all its forms. His works understand and contain the vital force of the creation of the universe, as well as his concern for the past and future of our planet and therefore of our own species.
