H77

HAVRE 77, PRIVATE HOUSE, MEXICO CITY

Site-specific Installation

The H77 project was carried out thanks to the invitation of the ReUrbano architecture firm, who were going to demolish a part of the 19th century house located in the Juarez colony of Mexico City. During 3 months I moved my studio-workshop to this place under construction, during this time I planned to make a deconstruction of the space instead of a traditional demolition, removing by layers the architectural space. In this way, and with the support of construction workers, a series of specific interventions were made with the very materials found on site. The intervention could be visited for two weekends in a row before the construction was completely demolished. Most of the works were lost in this process.
